ELIGIBILITY
     
 

    To be eligible to the Free Zone requirements industrial companies have to comply with with the following cumulative conditions:

  1. Guarantee the export of at least 65% of their yearly output;
  2. Give priority to Benin nationals instead of equally qualified foreign nationals for permanent positions ;
  3. Contribute to training Benin nationals to allow them to fill vacancies for demanding positions requiring high expertise;
  4. Give priority to raw materials, materials and office supplies of Benin origin instead of foreign items equally competitive.

Services companies must comply with the second condition and provide services exclusively linked to industrial companies operating within the Free Zone regime.

Services companies specialised in ICT must comply with the second and the third conditions.

Services companies which services are exclusively intended for exports must guarantee 100% of their services to export in addition to the second and third conditions.

Big farms must comply with the second and third conditions in addition to primarily supply local manufactures;

Companies producing inputs for the industrial companies under the Free Zone regime must comply with the second and fourth conditions.

Financial and banking institutions holdings, in addition to the second and third conditions, must respect the regulation of West African States Central Bank.

Any company which having been entitled to a preferential treatment of the Investment Code for an investment project can be eligible to the Free Processing Zone regime only if it gives up on the Investment Code benefits for the ones of the Free Processing Zone.

Zones promoters should comply with the following conditions :

  • Priority to be given to Benin nationals rather to equally qualified foreign nationals ;
  • With equal competitiveness, use of Benin raw materials, materials and office supplies;
  • And also justify sufficient financial and technical abilities to develop their site as well as ensure duties assigned to them.
